Intro

The Australian Anglers Association’s National Angling Championships and Convention 2023 will be held over 14 days on the Eyre Peninsula from 20th – 31st March, 2023. These Championships are as much about developing camaraderie and renewing old freindships amongst the participants as about competition

Who will Attend – The Championships are open to all financial members of angling clubs affiliated with their respective State Associations. A contingent of New Zealand anglers is also invited to attend

Social Functions – During the carnival, numerous social functions to be held. These include a Welcome Night and various other functions such as a State night, a dance or a trivia night. Several Lay Days are scheduled during the carnival and most competitors use these to go sight-seeing and visit the local tourist attractions. Bus trips to local places of interest are organized for those visitors who are not that heavily involved in the fishing.

Estuary Championship
All boats will launch and retrieve at Coffin Bay boat ramp. The boundaries are both land and boat based. Point Longnose on the west lining up with imaginary line to the point at Little Douglas on the east.
